Assist. Prof. Renato Oblak, PhD, has spent more than ten years of his professional career in international freight forwarding, five years in waste management, and one year managing projects for the construction of industrial and hotel complexes. He also worked for more than seven years at Adria Polymers d.o.o. in Omišalj (formerly DINA Petrokemija) as a project manager developing projects for a solar power plant, a dry marina, a nautical marina, a hydrogen transshipment and storage terminal, and an industrial-business zone. He is currently employed as Director of the Rabac Port Authority.

Since 2018, he has been engaged at the Faculty of Maritime Studies, University of Rijeka as an industry expert on the following courses: (1) Strategic Management, (2) Seaport Management, (3) Port Economics, and (4) Engineering Logistics.

Since 2021, he has also been engaged at Polytechnic of Hrvatsko Zagorje Krapina on the course Fundamentals of Logistics Systems.

He is the author and co-author of more than fifty professional projects and studies for various state institutions and public bodies.

He is fluent in Italian and English and has a passive knowledge of Slovenian.
