Dr. sc. Luka Vukić is an Associate Professor at the University of Split, Faculty of Maritime Studies, Split, in the fields of maritime technology, seaport management, and sustainable maritime transport. He earned his PhD in Technical Sciences from the University of Rijeka, with research focused on the impact of external costs on the formation and consolidation of cargo flows in the Northern Adriatic.

His scientific work covers sustainable transport systems, maritime decarbonization, emissions in ports and shipping, optimization of “green” transport routes, and the application of multi-criteria decision-making methods. He is the author and co-author of numerous papers published in relevant international journals (including Marine Policy, Journal of Marine Science and Engineering, and Journal of Shipping and Trade), and he received the University of Split Annual Science Award in 2022 for his research achievements.

He has participated in and led several national, international, and EU-funded projects (SEA-EU, BLUEWBC, CHARGE, COST DeWaTra, etc.), and has been involved in a range of strategic and professional studies related to the organization and management of seaports. He mentors PhD candidates, serves on editorial and review boards of international journals, and actively collaborates with industry through the preparation of development, transport, and environmental studies in the maritime sector.
