Luka Vukić

Luka Vukić was born on January 9, 1989 in Split, where he completed primary and secondary school. He graduated from the Faculty of Maritime Studies of the University of Split in 2015 and received his master's degree on the topic: "Criteria for planning oil spill response operations". He received the Dean's Award for the best student in the Maritime Management study at the Faculty of Maritime Studies of the University of Split. In the same year, he enrolled in the postgraduate university study "Maritime" at the Faculty of Maritime Studies of the University of Rijeka.
He actively speaks English and Italian.
Since 2016, he has been employed at the Faculty of Maritime Studies in Split. In 2019, he received his Ph.D. from the Faculty of Maritime Studies in Rijeka on the topic: "The influence of external costs on the formation and consolidation of commodity flows in the North Adriatic area". In the same year, he habilitated at the Faculty of Maritime Studies in Split, obtained the title of assistant professor and worked at the Institute for Management of Maritime Technologies. He is the author of dozens of scientific and professional papers published in journals and presented at domestic and foreign conferences. He is the recipient of the University of Split Science Award for 2022. He will become the Head of the Chair of Maritime Management in 10/2023. From 10/2024 to the present, he is the Vice-Dean for Development and International Cooperation at the Faculty of Maritime Affairs, University of Split.
His main areas of interest include logistics and port management, nautical tourism and cruising as well as sustainability and environmental aspects in maritime and shipping industry.
