Dario Barbarić was born 7th Dec 1972. in Dubrovnik, Croatia where he works and lives with his family. Dario graduated at the Faculty of Maritime Studies, University of Split in 1996, where he received his degree Bachelor of Science in Maritime Transport.

Dario has 51 years and 30 years of experience in maritime sector. In 1996 he graduated on Faculty of maritime science in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Until 2004 he was working in maritime industry as a navigation officer on board the vessels of shipping company Transocean Maritime Agency, Monaco. Dario obtained certificate of Chief Officer on an Ocean going vessel over 3000 GT.

From 2004, he was accepted to the position of Head of the Department for Security and Environmental Protection in the Port of Dubrovnik Authority. During the time he spent as Head of the Department for Security, Development and Maintenance of Port Infrastructure and Environmental Protection in the Port of Dubrovnik, he had the privilege to actively participate in all development processes and project in passenger part of the port. He is working closely with the GM’s on the creation of the organization of the Port of Dubrovnik Authority, as well as on the creation of a business and infrastructure platform for the further development of the port areas managed by Port of Dubrovnik Authority.  As a security manager he is strongly engaged in cruise and port operations.

As a lecturer, he participated on the several International Conferences sush as "International Port Security" 2016, London, UK, on the “10th International Conference of Croatian Security Managers” 2016, Opatija Croatia, as a speaker on the Conference “Cruise & Destinations, Challenges & Opportunities” Dubrovnik November 07th – 10th 2018., and others conferences. From 2024. Dario held the post of Director for Safeta and Security Task at the Board of Directors of MedCruise Association. In the past, Dario has represented Port Authority of Dubrovnik at the International Security Summits and at Medcruise and Seatrade events, including Seatrade Cruise Global in Miami, USA for several times in the past years.
