Ports and maritime critical infrastructure are increasingly exposed to underwater threats, ranging from sabotage and hybrid operations to unauthorized diver or vehicle intrusions. The subsea domain remains difficult to monitor, particularly in shallow and high-traffic environments typical of commercial harbors.

Presentation focuses on the role of intrusion detection sonars as a dedicated security layer for ports and critical infrastructure. It will examine operational challenges, system performance in shallow waters, false alarm mitigation, and integration with broader security frameworks.

During the presentation, the GuardPoint IDS sonar family will be introduced, together with practical application scenarios demonstrating how persistent underwater surveillance enhances situational awareness, resilience, and response capability in modern maritime security architectures.
