Iva Horvat, PhD is the Director of Osijek Port Authority and a long-standing expert in the field of inland waterway transport. She holds a doctorate in law from the Faculty of Law in Osijek, with a dissertation focused on the management of inland waterway ports. Over more than twenty years of work at the Port Authorities of Vukovar and Osijek, she has advanced from junior associate to senior management positions.

Through a series of operational and managerial roles, she has gained a comprehensive understanding of business processes and industry requirements at both the domestic and international level, complemented by a systematic approach to solving complex problems. She has actively led and participated in numerous EU projects on the Danube and Drava rivers, and served as a key expert in the development of the Inland Waterway Transport Development Strategy of the Republic of Croatia.

She is a member of working groups responsible for drafting legislation and subordinate regulations in the field of inland waterway transport, directly contributing to shaping the regulatory framework of the industry.
