Vladimir Šetka was born in 1972 in Sinj. He completed his primary and secondary education in Split. He graduated from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zadar with a degree in German and Russian literature.

He began working at the Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT) in 1993 as an external associate and has been a full-time employee since 1997. During his journalism career, he has covered topics related to politics, the economy, and the judiciary. For the past ten years, he has edited and hosted one of the oldest radio programs – Pomorska večer (Maritime Evening) of Croatian Radio, broadcast from the Radio Zadar studio.

Together with his colleagues, he received several awards for the program, including the Večernjakova ruža award, as well as awards from the Croatian Helsinki Committee and the Mare Nostrum Shipowners’ Association. He is also the recipient of the annual HRT award and a recognition from the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure for his contribution to promoting Croatian maritime affairs.

Today, his journalistic work primarily focuses on topics related to maritime affairs, shipping, and the development of port infrastructure.
