Alberto Cozzi

Mr Alberto Cozzi was born and resides in Udine, Italy.
He graduated in International Relations from the University of Trieste in 2002, focusing on International Economics, Public Law and Geopolitics, with particular attention to Central and Eastern Europe.
He subsequently moved to Poland to attend the College of Europe (Natolin campus), where in 2003 he completed a Master of Arts in European Studies. His academic focus included European Economic Integration and the EU Legal Order, EU-Candidate Countries relations, EU Regional and Agricultural Policies, and Justice and Home Affairs, culminating in a thesis on European transport corridors and related financial instruments.
Driven by an interest in transport and mobility, he pursued further studies at the Polytechnic University of Turin, obtaining in 2004 a Master of Arts in Transport and Sustainable Mobility, with specialisations in Transport Modelling and Logistics, Local and Regional Transport Planning, and the Transport-Environment nexus.
After an experience at IVECO, where he dealt with technical regulations at ECE, EU and national levels for heavy-duty vehicles, he completed in 2008 a Master of Arts in Logistics Promoter at the University of Trieste, focusing on the Economics and Marketing of Logistics, Transport and Infrastructure and Territorial Marketing Policies for Local Development.
He joined a regional port authority in 2008 as Logistics Manager, responsible for the overall management of the port and railway sidings, including contractual, commercial and promotional activities, as well as coordination with local and national authorities. During this period, he also contributed to three EU projects related to intermodal transport, port safety and marine pollution.
From 2014 to 2017 he worked for the Central European Initiative, a regional intergovernmental forum of eighteen Central and South-East European countries supporting European integration through cooperation. There, he was responsible for drafting, submitting and managing transport-related EU projects (Interreg and TEN-T) both as Lead Partner and Project Partner, and represented the CEI in the EUSALP and EUSDR transport working groups.
He joined the Port Network Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea (Ports of Trieste and Monfalcone) in May 2017, where he works as Project Manager for EU-funded initiatives in several areas, including infrastructure, innovation, intermodal transport, alternative fuels, ICT and mobility.
